  • Descrição: The magnetic susceptibility of the alloy Al + 78 wt.% Zn in equilibrium, quenched and deformed states was investigated, and also its changes during ageing and annealing. It is shown that thermomechanical treatment leads to significant variations in the magnetic properties of the alloy, in particular to the paramagnetic contribution to the magnetic susceptibility, and to its relationship with the field strength. The nature of induced paramagnetism and the mechanism of its appearance during normal and super plastic deformation are discussed.
