Here, the evolution of ideas is investigated to determine the uniqueness of national cultures, while at the same time supporting the thesis of an effective unity between them. This is not only a relevant text within Cassirer’s production, it is also a rich historical document, a succinct but contumacious defense of the idea of European unity.
