We present(a)–(d) EA ABM results across 1000 simulations, (e)–(h) the corresponding optimised IDE solution, (i) IDEcell mass in time compared to the mean number of cells across 1000 ABM simulations for different Nbir values,and (j)–(l) the pointwise difference between the IDE and EA ABM results. We overlay cell positions for oneexample ABM simulation to provide more intuition; we show roughly half of these cells. In (a)–(h) and (j)–(l),we use Nbir = 150 positions evaluated for cell birth each day.
