  • Descrição: The band gap structure of one-dimensional photonic crystals is investigated using the transfer matrix method. When the width of medium layer is changed, the band gap will be changed accordingly. Numerical analysis results show that continuous and larger band gaps can be obtained by combination of different thickness of medium layers. By using this method, the ideal filtering effect can be obtained without changing the total medium thickness of photonic crystal materials.
