  • Descrição: Single-crystal 〈100〉 lithium fluoride was cooled, shocked, and the precursor amplitude measured. Comparison with room-temperature experiments indicates that precursor attenuation is enhanced at liquid-nitrogen temperature. This is opposite to what one would expect if precursor decay is caused by the nucleation and growth of dislocations.
