Descrição: Covering a wide temporal and geographic range, this collection takes Dennis Green's important The Beginnings of Medieval Romance (2002) as inspiration and sometime beacon, applying its concepts (especially the contractual relationship between author and audience in fictional writing and reading) and sometimes modifying its application. Green contributed a brief essay to the collection, and it is one of the strongest contributions (though it lacks footnotes).
