Description:
Resumen Objectivo Presentamos una serie de 380 citologías con el diagnóstico de infección vaginal por Trichomonas vaginalis . Sobre 121.688 citologías en 10 años en nuestro hospital (2000-2009), representan el 0,31%. Se comparan con un grupo control de 535 citologías. Resultados La citología con Trichomonas es más inflamatoria, y hay infecciones mixtas en 36 casos (9,47%). Se encuentran atípias celulares en 19 casos (5%). Conclusiones En nuestro estudio, la infección vaginal por Trichomonas en la citología se asocia de forma significativa a vaginosis bacteriana, p < 0,05, y a atípias de significado incierto, ASCUS, p < 0,01.
