  • Descrição: Zanjas y Camellones is a collective agroecology project in Bogot, Colombia, that aims to revitalize local agricultural knowledge and reconnect with the waterways at the heart of the Muisca world. The project recreates a fragment of an ancient agricultural system used by the Muisca people, who survived Spanish colonization and are currently undergoing a process of resurgence. The project stages the coming-together of actors from divergent fields of knowledge to regenerate shared worlds expelled under imperial violence. By unlearning national imaginaries that keep the Muisca people ossified in a pre-Columbian past, Zanjas y Camellones works towards the restoration of amphibian territories that have been encroached upon since the conquest of the Americas. The project builds a platform for encounters between NGOs, farmers, seed custodians, Indigenous leaders, lawyers, architects, biologists, scholars, environmental activists, and the wetland ecosystem. Through performative dialogues and the reawakening of ancestral knowledge, Zanjas y Camellones participates in the process of uncommoning agriculture and nourishes a future vision deeply rooted in ancestral knowledges.
