  • Descrição: It is assumed that we are faced--against the background of new approaches in teaching & training--with the emergence of a science of instruction located somewhere between the psychology of learning & educational practice. This science can be distinguished from the technology of education, a term used for the actual practice of instruction. Such a science must provide operational rules for well-defined forms of learning. Such rules should be distinguished from normative rules. Examples of such precepts are discussed, mostly bearing on the technology of programmed instruction. Effective instructional practice must have both a science of instruction from which to draw operational rules & a philosophy of education from which to draw normative rules. 4 Figures. Modified HA.
