  • Descrição: As we came close to commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11, Alain Faure, the head of Grenoble's Centre for Canadian Studies, and Eric Tabuteau decided to organize a conference on Canada, 10 years after 9/11. When I joined them, we thought we would look at how events that marked the beginning of the 21st century had affected Canada, both in its relations with the United States and in the ways in which its distinct ethno-cultural and religious groups interacted. Hence the international conference that took place on 9-10 September 2011 examined the impact of 9/11 on the idea of 'living together' in Canada, i.e., on relations among different communities living in Canada and between Canada and its southern neighbour.
