  • Descrição: French firm Novarka is constructing the New Safe Confinement (NSC), a steel arch that will replace the sarcophagus that sealed off reactor number 4 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. In April 1986, this reactor exploded so a sarcophagus was needed to contain radioactivity. NSC, the world's largest movable structure, costs $2.1 billion and is projected to last for at least 100 years.
