  • Descrição: Researchers have been able to demonstrate entangled pairs of atoms by using a beam of rubidium atoms prepared in circular Rydberg states. In these states, the outermost electron is restricted to an effectively circular orbit. It was possible to produce an atom pair with one atom in a ground state and the other in an excited state, with no way of identifying which is which. Further research work in this area may be able to demonstrate entanglement of macroscopic objects.
