  • Descrição: Regression models can be used to develop predictive color hazard maps and color sensitive catchment management policies for water management in the upland catchments of North Yorkshire, UK. The water is discolored due to a decrease in the water table and an increase in anaerobic decomposition of the organic soil layers accompanied by catchment flushing. Heather burning and artificial ditching also contributes to the discoloration of the water. The catchments which contain large amount of organic matter discolor the water in the reserves more than the others.
