  • Descrição: Reviews "Republicanism: A Shared European Heritage, Vol.I, Republicanism and Constitutionalism in Early-Modern Europe" and "Vol. II, The Varieties of Republicanism in Early-Modern Europe", both volumes edited by Martin van Gelderen and Quentin Skinner. These volumes present a wealth of material on the development and character of early-modern republicanism, showing that despite the fact that republicanism is certainly a shared heritage, there is much to be gained from locating the application of this heritage in particular national contexts.
