  • Descrição: The author defines the terms education, training, orientation, and briefing much more precisely than is usually done. In this way each of the four learning modes is discovered to have its own distinctive strengths and shortcomings. Once these differences are clearly understood, the designer of the learning experience should be encouraged to combine the four modes creatively and effectively. The author then indicates which aspects of conventional intercultural content seem to fit most naturally within the parameters of each of the four modes under discussion. Finally, a brief description of an existing cross cultural program presented in each of the four approaches is provided.
