  • Descrição: Forensic radio surveys are most often performed in support of historical cell site analysis but may also be performed to gather intelligence as part of ‘live’ events such as kidnaps and manhunts. A number of techniques are employed by forensic radio surveyors; the specific techniques to be employed on each survey job are usually determined by the characteristics of and the forensic strategy devised for the associated case and by the assertions that the cell site analysts are attempting to prove or disprove. Mobile phones that are powered on and attached to a valid network will generally be in one of two modes: Idle Mode and Connected Mode. All radio receivers, at least of the quality employed in commercial mobile phones, are constructed from elements that have comparatively wide variations in composition and tolerance, and each device will measure received signal strengths slightly differently.
