Descrição: Summary A longitudinal study on 508 girls chosen at random from the elementary schools of Turin showed that age at menarche had a Gaussian distribution. The mean age was 12·58±0·05 years. Peaks of incidence of menarche were observed in January and July-September. The correlation coefficient of mothers' (recollected) age at menarche with daughters' was 0·32. Zusammenfassung Eine Längsschnittuntersuchung von 508 Mädchen, die zufällig aus den Grundschulen von Turin ausgewählt wurden, seigte, daß1 das Menarchealter eine Gaussche Verteilung hat. Der Mittelwert betrug 12, 58±0.05 Jahre. Gipfel des Auftrittes der Menarche wurden für Januar und für Juli-September beobachtet. Der Korrelationskoeffizient des (erinnerten) Alters der Menarche der Mütter mit demjenigen der Töchter betrug 0,32. Résumé Une étude longitudinale de 508 filles tirées au hasard dans les écoles primaires de Turin, montre qu l'ˆage aux premi eres r egles présente une distribution gaussienne. L'ˆage moyen est 12, 58 ± 0,056 ans. Les pics d'incidence des premi eres r egles étant observ es en janvier et en juillet-septembre. Le coefficient de corrélation de l'ˆage a la ménarche des m eres (mémorisé) avec celui de leur fille, est de 0,32.
