Page leads into the Clark Tibbits paper on `Aging: Where We Are and Where We're Going'. Homer L. Hitt in `The Demography of America's Aged: A Current Appraisal' discusses future trends by state, region, Ru & Ur areas, Ru/Ur distribution, & migration of the aged pop. Michael Klein describes `Recent Developments in the Physiology of Aging'. Irving Lorge discusses `Intelligence and Learning in Aging' & upon reviewing the literature concludes that 'the so-called decline in intelligence does not seem to be evident when the same individuals are retested after 10, 20, or 30 yrs.' Ward C. Halstead describes `Biological Intelligence and Differential Aging'. Ruth Albrecht `Personal Adjustment in Later Years' suggests that 'good evidence [exists] that maladjustments in old age may be reversible to a degree.' William H. Harlan, in 'Changing Attitudes towards Aging and the Aged', describes 8 myths concerning old age (employment, econ security, pol'al, health & medical care, psychol'al characteristics, retirement, activities & interests, family & living arrangements) which need to be researched as to their veracity. Joseph J. Spengler discusses 'Wage-Price Movements and Old-Age Security'. Marion T. Loftin, in `The Health of the Aged Population: An Appraisal of Our Current Knowledge', reviews what is known about morbidity & suggests the US 'will be faced in the coming yrs with a constantly increasing need for institutional facilities for the chronically ill.' Louis L. Amato details 'A Current Appraisal of the Care of the Aged and the Aging'. William T. Arnet details, in `Housing Florida's Older Population', the recent projects undertaken & the problems involved. Daniel E. Alleger describes the `Farm's Contribution to Retirement' from a survey of 133 `retirement farmers' residing in Florida. Robert W. Kleemeier presents `An Analysis of Patterns for Group Living for Older People'. (See SA 5203 5938) L. P. Chall.
