Descrição: The first two chapters, by John Wong and Sarasin Viraphol, offer some general observations on the rise of Mainland China as a major economic powerhouse for the Asia Pacific region and its implications for ethnic Chinese business in Southeast Asia. The next three chapters examine specifically the dynamic situation of ethnic Chinese business in Indonesia: the rise of economic nationalism and ethnic imbalance and the impact of globalization and China on the country's ethnic Chinese businesses.
