  • Descrição: A cylindrical acoustic resonator for measurement of the velocity and absorption characteristics of an enclosed fluid medium is discussed. The cavity is constructed of compliant tubes, thus presenting a pressure release surface at the boundaries. Theory is developed indicating that the resonant frequency of the cavity is directly proportional to the velocity of sound in the medium while the Q of the resonator can be used to determine attenuation.
