Descrição: This paper recalls the idea of a neural controller with application to the control of an industrial machining process. Two structures of a neural fuzzy controller, which links the ideas of a fuzzy controller and a neural network, are suggested. Results of simulations comparing performance of such a controller to that of a conventional fuzzy logic controller are shown. The experiment indicates that the performance of the proposed neural fuzzy controller is satisfactory. Hence, using a neural network, it is possible to build a controller that performs equally well as a fuzzy logic controller; moreover, it is more flexible and faster.
