  • Descrição: The migration is a critical event affecting the quality of family relationships. In the different phases of the migration process the family is required to take care of the affective and ethical bonds linking its. The basic assumption is that across all these bonds the immigrant adult generation has to cope with the fundamental transition task, that of seeking a balance between the need to safeguard family continuity in terms of identity and that of actively re-elaborating within the family dynamics the demands and influences coming from the host culture and society.
