  • Descrição: Two of her subsequent house jobs were in renal units, and when her husband's work took him to the USA, she joined a renal basic science team at the University of Birmingham at Alabama and worked on blood pressure and changes in dietary sodium and potassium. “There was family therapy for children and adolescents, but the general idea used to be that if you were an adult you were out there fighting for yourself”, says psychiatrist Ulrike Schmidt, Professor of Eating Disorders at IoPPN. Set up in partnership with the UK National Institute for Health Research and the eating disorder charity Beat, it is recruiting 10 000 patients to unearth genetic and environmental factors in eating disorders.
