  • Descrição: On the present the substitution of mineral oil with the biodegradable base oils is primary objective. Compared to the conventional mineral oil based fluids most of such substances exhibit lower thermal and oxidation stability and even worse low-temperature behavior. Therefore, before the substitution of mineral oil with biodegradable based oils these fluids need to be tested by accelerated laboratory tests. It is very difficult to realize some tests right on a machine, because various unfavorable effects can influence on a machine during the work. These effects include people, inadequate loading, etc. Therefore, it is advantageous to solve them on the special test devices simulating an operation loading under laboratory conditions. On the basis of demands stated by standard it was suggested, tried out and used the test device dedicated to accelerated durability tests. The test is evaluated according to influence of the biodegradable fluid on hydrostatic pump durability. Therefore, it was suggested a device destined for measurement of flow rate characteristics. On the present, various methods are available for evaluation of technical conditions of hydrostatic pumps. These methods use various physical principles which have an influence on results accuracy. In this paper the observation of hydrostatic pump deterioration during the durability test per various methods (flow characteristics, cleanliness level, thermovision, ferography) is presented, too. The hydrostatic pump parameters increase during the tests (running - up) of mineral oil. This fact hints as excellent properties of mineral oil type UTTO. The test with vegetable oil was characterized by ending of running-up in the middle of test. The next flow efficiency decrease achieves the value 7.3% after ending of the test. This value is essentially lower than the value (20%) stated per standard. This fact hints as excellent properties of vegetable oil type ERTTO. During the both tests fluids parameters (kinematics viscosity, total acid number, cleanliness level and water content) were observed. After the tests the observed parameters are in limits. Therefore, both fluids are of a good quality.
