  • Descrição: The present article is aimed as a comparative analysis of ethical codes of conduct for the practice discipline of design. This discussion is especially relevant in the broader context of a discussion surrounding the important topic of ethics in design. Especially considering the present and increasing chasm we are witnessing in both academic design discourse and the practical implications thereof within the design profession. As such, this investigation is intended to bridge the gap between these realms, presenting a dissection of the current state of the dialogue between ethics and design in a professional context. In order to accomplish that, an analysis of the proposed ethical codes of conduct by eight high-profile institutions in the design space was conducted with the added purpose of determining whether they converge enough to be redundant or diverge too much and become ambiguous, both ultimately contributing to their dilution.
