  • Descrição: The purpose of this study was to determine the organizational structures and resource allocations superintendents in rural Missouri school districts employ to promote college and career readiness. The study sought to identify organizational structures and resource allocations being employed by superintendents in rural Missouri school districts and gather qualitative feedback on the processes involved in developing and maintaining the structures and strategies. In addition, the study intended to gather and analyze qualitative information related to implementation procedures, systems of measurement, and processes for evaluation and revision of the organizational structures and resource allocations. The study identified 30 themes in qualitative feedback collected from 11 practicing superintendents in rural Missouri school districts related to the promotion of college and career readiness principles. Data collected is categorized around the topics of establishing a vision and mission, managing the organization, engaging families and communities, and challenges and limitations.
