Descrição:
In May 1934, Dachau commandant Theodor Eicke was commissioned by Himmler to reshape Nazi Germany’s concentration camps in the style of the Bavarian “model camp.” Starting with the reorganization of Lichtenburg, Eicke, who was officially appointed Inspector of the Concentration Camps and Leader of the SS Guard Units in early July 1934, gradually secured SS control over the existing sites of terror and standardized their administration and guarding along the lines of Dachau’s or ganizational structure.
