Descrição: The 15th meeting of States Parties to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea was held at UN Headquarters, New York, from 16-23 June 2005. The meeting welcomed three new States Parties, Burkina Faso, Denmark and Latvia, bringing the total number of Parties to 148 and a step closer to universality. Under the agenda item on other matters, the representatives of Australia, Brazil and the Russian Federation expressed concern regarding the application of the rules of procedure by the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, particularly the rule concerning attendance of coastal States at relevant meetings of the Commission.
