  • Descrição: RAON, which is an acronym of Rare isotope Accelerator complex for ON-line experiment, is being constructed in Korea. Among various experimental setups at RAON, the LAMPS (Large Acceptance Multi-Purpose Spectrometer) system is dedicated to studying the equation of state (EoS) and symmetry energy of the compressed nuclear matter. Several detector components for LAMPS, including the Time Projection Chamber (TPC) and the neutron detector array, have been developed, constructed and tested. The characteristics of TPC fullfill the requirements of LAMPS, as the drift velocity is larger than 6 cm/μs and the position resolution is smaller than 250 μm. The time and position resolutions of the prototype neutron detectors are measured to be 309 ps and 4.8 cm, respectively, which are superior to other existing neutron detectors with similar configuration. The current status of the detector developments for LAMPS is summarized with some perspectives.
