Organized by subject, entries include the vendor price (when available), platform and hardware requirements, and availability of network versions. In addition, evaluative comments provide important information such as details about content, searching features and capabilities, and the level of user sophistication required. These CD-ROM recommendations cover diverse subjects, including: art and music, business, careers, education, health, medicine, and nutrition, literature, history, maps, newspaper and periodical indexes, and U.S. Government statistical data. Appendices provide names and addresses of vendors, a separate list of discount and mail order CD-ROM vendors, and computer periodicals of interest. A glossary and index of CD-ROMs are also included.
