  • Descrição: Aristotle's contribution to the development of economic thought is analysed in the paper. The paper studies his thoughts and attitudes on the state, slavery, private property, values, exchange, trade, money, and interest. As an analytical thinker, inhibited by the historical context and slavery, his greatest achievements were attained in the field of value and money. His distinction between use value and exchange value, as well as the function of money are valid still today.
