Descrição: GE Plastics (Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA) strengthened its presence in South America with the acquisition of Polimeros Argentinos SA, an engineering plastics compounder and distributor in Tortuguitas, near Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Argentine unit has become GE Plastics' second compounding plant in South America. The acquisition will increase capacity to meet the needs of the growing industries in South America, in particular the automotive industry. The Tortuguitas plant will be able to produce a full range of GE Plastics' thermoplastics, including Lexan polycarbonate, Cycoloy PC/ABS, Cycolac ABS and other engineering resins.
