  • Descrição: Transition metal oxide MoO2 was in situ introduced into a gamma/NiMo alloy by laser melting deposition (LMD) process. High-temperature phase stability of the MoO2 was studied by aging at 1100 deg C for 200 h and effect of the MoO2 on high-temperature wear resistance of the alloy was also investigated under sliding wear test conditions. Results showed that the MoO2 had a uniform distribution, high hardness and excellent high-temperature phase stability. The MoO2 reinforcing phase played a key role in improving wear resistance of the alloy so that soft abrasion became dominant wear mechanism of the alloy under high-temperature sliding wear test conditions.
