  • Descrição: Despite the links between the environment and health, campaigns designed to promote sustainable behaviour are rarely framed in terms of human health, and strategies to change health behaviour are not often applied to environmental behaviour. We illustrate the connections between health and the environment, and health behaviour and environmental behaviour. We also describe health behaviour models, and provide an analysis of how they might inform the research on environmental actions. We discuss research, education, and public policy implications of applying a health framework to environmental issues and promoting behaviour that is healthy for both the planet and human beings. Malgré les liens qui existent entre l'environnement et la santé, les campagnes de promotion des comportements durables mettent rarement l'accent sur la santé humaine et les stratégies afin de modifier les comportements liés à santé s'appliquent rarement aux comportements environnementaux. Nous illustrons les connections entre la santé et l'environnement, ainsi qu'entre les comportements liés à la santé et les comportements environnementaux. Nous décrivons aussi les modèles de comportements liés à la santé et analysons comment ils peuvent fournir de l'information pertinente à la recherche sur les actions environnementales. Nous discutons des implications, pour la recherche, l'éducation et les politiques publiques, d'utiliser une approche de santé afin d'aborder les questions environnementales et de promouvoir des comportements sains autant pour la planète que pour les êtres humains.
