Descrição: The article deals with the question of the deterioration of Soviet-Iranian relations, the role Iranian oil played in this trend in the beginning of the «cold war» and US involvement in Iran. The author contends that Soviet claims to oil concessions in Northern Iran triggered the movement for the nationalization of the oil industry led by M. Mosaddegh.
