Descrição:
Among all growing machining, Electrochemical Discharge Machining (ECDM) is a new challenging hybrid machining process in which the machine is electrically non-conductive fragile or has rigid substances with precise dimensional accuracy which has also zero stress of residual. The mechanism of ECDM process is based on electro discharge principle and combines features of electric discharge machining (EDM) and electro chemical machining (ECM) process. Drilling-ECDM is the one of the configuration of the ECDM process which is apposited to make accurate holes on the difficult-to-machine materials compared to the traditional drilling process. This article is used to focus the study on the fundamental physical principle of the drilling-ECDM process and scrutinize the experimental study of past researchers in the tabular form. Moreover the process variables and responses of the drilling-ECDM process are symbolized through the Fish bone diagram and the influences of input parameters on machining characteristics are also reported in the present work. From the critical study of literature, the scopes of the materials, year wise publications and potential of research have been illustrated in the analytical manner through a pie-chart as well as line diagram.
