Descrição:
This patent describes a process for fuel combustion. The improvement consists of: providing a relatively constant flow rate of one of fuel and combustion air to a burner, providing a continuous and cyclically variable flow rate of the other of the fuel and the combustion air to the burner, passing the fuel and the combustion air from the exit of the burner to a combustion zone creating successive fuel-rich and fuel-lean zones radiating outwardly from the burner exit into the combustion zone, and combusting a major portion of the fuel in the fuel-rich and fuel-lean zones providing continuous combustion and decreased NO/sub x/ formation, the combustion being non-adiabatic by removal of about 10 to about 50 percent of produced heat from the fuel-rich and fuel-lean zones.
